System Office website updates
Aug. 27, 2021
If you work on Â鶹´«Ã½ System Office or Â鶹´«Ã½F websites you may have noticed some changes to the interface of our web content management system Modern Campus CMS (formerly OU Campus). Earlier this week, the system was upgraded to version 11 and with it came a new main interface, new WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) toolbar and icons, and some new table editing capabilities. Despite these changes to the interface, the user experience has not changed significantly and the same processes and procedures remain.
Earlier this year, OU Campus was rebranded as Modern Campus CMS. The name change is the result of OmniUpdate, the creator of OU Campus, merging with Destiny One to form Modern Campus. As part of this merger, the branding of the system is expected to change in the coming months, which will change the appearance of the platform, but will not affect Â鶹´«Ã½ websites.
Employees needing training or assistance with the web management system have many tools to choose from. OmniUpdate offers a library of , weekly training , an online , extensive and an annual , as well as a and and for support.
Additionally, Â鶹´«Ã½ Office of Information Technology has training resources available for employees, including a course named Modern Campus CMS Training Resources which is required to get access to Â鶹´«Ã½ website editing.
While most departments in the System Office have transitioned to the new web management system, there are a few sites that are still using our old content management system, Roxen. Legacy sites still on the Roxen platform must be transitioned by October 31. The sooner we can transition those last remaining sites, the sooner we can stop paying for two content management systems. Additionally, the new interface has superior tools related to accessibility and greatly improved templates and user experience. If you have any questions about your website please .
