The Â鶹´«Ã½ Southeast has appointed Dr. Carlee Simon as the Dean of the School of Education. Dr. Simon has been serving as interim dean. During that time, she has guided the school through the CAEP accreditation process. Her work has focused on fostering student success and strengthening community engagement. 

In her new role, Dr. Simon will continue to oversee the school’s programs and initiatives, building on the progress made during her interim tenure.

Her experience as an educator began with her certification through an alternative route as a Career Technical Educator in Florida. She pursued this unconventional path with a degree in Architecture, uniquely positioning her to view education through a different lens. Dr. Simon's experience with alternative certification has shaped her perspective and deepened her belief in providing alternative paths to teacher certification. She understands that diverse backgrounds and experiences enrich the field of education, and is committed to creating opportunities for individuals with unique skill sets and knowledge to contribute to the teaching profession.

With a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy, specializing in Public School Finance, from the University of Florida, Dr. Simon brings a profound understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing education systems today.
