The Alaska Legislature has been in an extended recess since the end of March, and today is technically the 95th day of the session. Legislative leaders opted to leave session open in case additional pandemic response measures became necessary. Such an occasion has arisen and activity is beginning to pick back up within state government.

Â鶹´«Ã½ Employee COVID-19 status tool

General Counsel recently released a policy for gathering information about the presence of COVID-19 at our campuses and work sites. In order to do that, all employees, student employees, and contractors are required to follow the reporting procedure that the Â鶹´«Ã½ Incident Management Team put into place to assist with our tracking of COVID-19. Tips to get the best benefit from your employee benefits

Employee benefits are more than just a health care plan and a retirement account. A study by the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that benefits count for almost 30 percent of employee compensation. Â鶹´«Ã½ staff benefits count for between 30 to 49% percent of our annual salary.

The Coronavirus pandemic has changed almost every part of our lives. That upheaval may include the amount you choose to invest in your flex spending (FSA) accounts. During open enrollment, you may want to consider increasing or decreasing the amount that you set aside in your healthcare and dependent care flex spending account funds.

Temporary Â鶹´«Ã½Online outage April 30

Please note that there will be a scheduled outage of Â鶹´«Ã½Online on Thursday, April 30, from 5pm until about midnight. The university system always tries to schedule outages outside of final grading periods. However, from time to time, they are unavoidable. In this case, the upgrade is required in order to keep our financial aid processes in compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations.

Online safety and awareness are more critical than ever. As more people are relying on Zoom for classes and virtual meetings, Zoombombing behavior has increased. "Zoombombing", disruptive behavior typically carried out by uninvited participants in a Zoom session, includes activities such as screen-sharing inappropriate or malicious messages or scenes designed to disrupt and sometimes enrage the participants.
