Alaska Weather Program now available online

July 7, 2023

The television program 鈥淎laska Weather鈥 on K麻豆传媒C鈥檚 麻豆传媒TV channel 9.4 ended July 1, 2023, after 45 years of continuous broadcast.

Alaska Public Media and the National Weather Service produce the program in Anchorage. Alaska Public Media was unable to secure funding to support production, and the National Weather Service has not found partners to continue the program in its previous format.

For decades, Alaska Public Media assembled and distributed 鈥淎laska Weather鈥 to stations throughout Alaska, including K麻豆传媒C TV, a service of the 麻豆传媒 Fairbanks.

NWS will continue to produce graphics and record a modified web-based version of the program, which will be posted on the NWS Alaska YouTube channel. A web-based forecast included in the TV broadcast will continue to be available via multiple sources.

For those without high-speed internet access, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration鈥檚 weather radio service will remain available. Statewide public and marine forecasts are available over the phone through the  and at 1-855-937-4977.
