Wayne Mowery was appointed Interim General Counsel after the departure of Matthew Cooper. Mowery joined the General Counsel's Office in November 2020 as an associate general counsel.

Colin McGill named Â鶹´«Ã½A's Vice Provost for Faculty Success

Â鶹´«Ã½A is pleased to announce Colin McGill as the new vice provost of faculty success following a national search. A faculty member since 2011, McGill most recently served as interim vice provost for faculty success beginning in January 2024.

Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center (Â鶹´«Ã½S) researcher John Harley receives grant from NIH, NSF

ACRC researcher John Harley and the Sitka Tribe of Alaska have received a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to investigate how changing climate conditions may impact the safety of subsistence shellfish harvesting in coastal Alaska.

Vice President & Chief Academic Affairs finalists named

The search committee has recommended three finalists to President Pitney for a successor for Vice President Paul Layer, who plans to retire after a 35-year career at Â鶹´«Ã½F and Â鶹´«Ã½. The finalists will visit Fairbanks later this month and the finalists' dialogs with governance liaisons will be available as Zoom webinars for faculty, staff and students.
