Dr. Terry Nelson named Associate Dean for Â鶹´«Ã½A's College of Business and Public Policy
Dr. Terry Nelson has been named the Associate Dean for the College of Business and Public Policy after a search for a new associate dean was conducted. She assumed her new position on Monday, April 27, 2020.
Dr. Nelson has been with the College of Business and Public Policy at Â鶹´«Ã½A since 2013. She has served as the CBPP Director of Graduate Programs and led the Graduate Programs Strategy Committee (GPS) in overseeing the AACSB accreditation process. She is currently in her third year on the Graduate Academic Board (GAB) and has served on the Graduate Council, which is instrumental in initiating new policies and revising current policies.
Dr. Nelson has a strong leadership background and a proven record in academics, research and service. She has received several awards for teaching and service — 2017 Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (OBTS) New Educator Award, Outstanding Â鶹´«Ã½A MBA Faculty Award as voted by the students and awarded by the MBA Student Association (2015, 2016), and recognized in 2017 at the 24th Annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring as an inspiring teacher. For service, Dr. Nelson received the 2018 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence – Promoting Student Achievement for the CBPP Tom Case Leadership Fellows Program and 2016 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in the Community Engagement and Service category for her work with the CBPP and Clark Middle School Tom Case Leadership Fellows Junior Program. This partnership was also awarded the 2017 Anchorage School District Spirit of Tomorrow Award.
