Jane Pallister announces retirement from Â鶹´«Ã½A athletic department
Â鶹´«Ã½ Anchorage Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Affairs Jane Pallister has announced her retirement at the end of June. She has spent over 30 years serving the university, including the last 20 with the athletic department.
"Jane's fingerprints can be found on all aspects of Â鶹´«Ã½A Athletics," said Athletic Director Greg Myford. "In her years of dedicated service to thousands of Seawolf student-athletes, the athletic program and those who support us, she demonstrated and upheld all that's positive about not just college sports, but also how an athletic department serves its institution and its community."
Pallister started in the budget office at then-ACC in 1984 and then moved into procurement.
After six years in the procurement office, she served as the executive assistant to
the vice chancellor for administrative services for seven years before joining the
athletic staff in 2001.
She spent four years as the ticket/events coordinator and assistant to the athletic
director before being elevated to assistant athletic director and then senior associate
athletic director.
As assistant athletic director and senior associate athletic director for internal affairs, she oversaw the budget, human resources, travel and ticket office. She served as the sport administrator for women’s basketball, volleyball and skiing. She was heavily involved in various events with the athletic department including the Great Alaskan Shootout, Mayor’s Marathon, Seawolf Auction and Seawolf Golf Tournament.
"I am very grateful for the career I have had at Â鶹´«Ã½A and for the many outstanding people I have met along the way," said Pallister. “I was so fortunate to have been offered a job in athletics.....it was definitely my passion and the best career move for me personally. Thank you to the many outstanding staff members I have worked with along the way and to the extremely dedicated student-athletes I have had the privilege of getting to know. It's truly been an honor to be involved in athletics for so many years, and I will remain a Seawolf forever."
