Remembering Frank Soos

The Â鶹´«Ã½ community is saddened to learn of the recent death of well-loved Â鶹´«Ã½ Fairbanks English department faculty emeritus, Frank Soos. 

Frank was a former professor of creative writing who began teaching at Â鶹´«Ã½F in 1986. In addition to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, he was himself an accomplished writer. He won national awards and was the 2015 Alaska State Laureate Writer. 

Although Frank retired from Â鶹´«Ã½F in 2004, he maintained a strong association with the university and was active throughout the community. The Â鶹´«Ã½ community sends condolences to his family and friends, and to the students, staff and faculty who knew him.
