Â鶹´«Ã½S serves as host for IRONMAN triathlon this weekend

Â鶹´«Ã½S is a proud partner, in conjunction with the City & Borough of Juneau and other local, state and federal entities, to host the first ever IRONMAN triathlon in AK. IRONMAN announced their selection of Juneau to serve as a host city in August 2021 from the Â鶹´«Ã½S dock in Auke Lake. 

Â鶹´«Ã½S has been working with Travel Juneau and IRONMAN staff for the last year to prepare for the race. This is a full triathlon, with a 2.4 mile swim in Auke Lake, a 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run.  

The race begins at 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 7, and will end at midnight on Monday, August 8.  Athletes will cross the finish in the Â鶹´«Ã½S courtyard in front of the whale statue. For more information contact Lori Klein, Vice Chancellor, at 907-796-6057.
