The Senator Ted Stevens Legislative Internship Program empowers Â鶹´«Ã½ students to study and be a part of the legislative process in Juneau. The program draws students from all three universities and many majors to Alaska's Capitol during the legislative session to work as full-time interns, while completing a rigorous academic program.

A century ago, these two institutions opened their doors to Alaskans: one, a community bank in Anchorage that became First National Bank Alaska, and the other, an agriculture and mining college in Fairbanks that evolved into the Â鶹´«Ã½ (Â鶹´«Ã½) system. Both sought to provide new opportunities for a rapidly-growing territory.
