Beginning June 1, 2023, Â鶹´«Ã½F and Â鶹´«Ã½ System pages on Omni CMS will require "page check" on edited pages prior to publishing. The page check tool checks for misspelled words, broken links and accessibility errors.

Â鶹´«Ã½F and OIT Realign Duties to Better Serve Users

OIT and Â鶹´«Ã½F have begun a realignment of IT resources. The reorganization will create a new Â鶹´«Ã½F IT Department headed by VCAS Julie Queen, which will oversee mission-enabling resources for students, staff, and faculty at both Â鶹´«Ã½F and the System Office. OIT under CITO Shier will shift its focus to enhancing IT efforts for the entire Â鶹´«Ã½ System, and will continue to support Cybersecurity and LAN for Â鶹´«Ã½F.

Data Center outage May 13 and 20 will affect Internet, VPN access and shared drives

Â鶹´«Ã½F Facilities Services will be conducting a planned maintenance power shutdown in the Butrovich Building to integrate a new Uninterruptible Power Supply for the Butrovich Data Center. The Â鶹´«Ã½ Fairbanks main campus and all Â鶹´«Ã½F community campuses and outreach centers will not have Internet access during the planned maintenance shutdown periods. System Office and Â鶹´«Ã½F users will also lose access to VPN services and any shared file servers hosted in the BDC.

Banner Cloud Migration Project Complete

Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while we underwent a successful transition of Banner and related Ellucian products to the cloud. Before 5 p.m. on March 13, teams in OIT, Finance, Student Services and Human Resources finished the testing and validation of Banner applications, and service resumed for all users.

Plan Ahead: Banner Outage coming March 9-14

Starting at 5 p.m. on March 9 the final phase of transitioning all Banner applications to the cloud will commence, with an expected completion date of no later than Tuesday, March 14. During that time, there will be absolutely no access to Â鶹´«Ã½Online or other Banner applications.
