Angus Gavin Migratory Bird Research Grant Applications Due by January 17, 2025

Fairbanks, AK - Scientists within the Â鶹´«Ã½ System (Â鶹´«Ã½F, Â鶹´«Ã½A, Â鶹´«Ã½S), including graduate students and faculty members, are invited to apply for the Angus Gavin Memorial Migratory Bird Research Grant (Gavin Grant). Applications may be submitted through Friday, January 17, for 2025 field season proposals. The selection committee will make award selections between $15,000 - $30,000 for one or more applicants.

Libby Roderick receives 2022 Bullock Prize

Northrim Bank makes a major investment in Â鶹´«Ã½'s three universities

A major, long-time supporter of the Â鶹´«Ã½ system, Northrim Bank, has gifted $259,500 to fund Â鶹´«Ã½ initiatives that advance research about Alaska's economy and fiscal policy, expand business education and build entrepreneurship capacity. Northrim's donation also includes funding to five community campuses where Northrim employees live and work.

The Â鶹´«Ã½ System's $200 million fundraising goal is within reach, according to a report shared with the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foundation Board of Directors at its March 2 meeting in Juneau. As of December 2021, more than $175 million in private donations have been contributed by alumni, friends, companies, and private organizations, including 35 gifts of $1 million or more.
